"Round Island is without doubt the best showreel
service around - second to none!" Joan Hodges |

Many people can edit, but only
a few can make great showreels. It's a unique skill.
It takes experience. Understanding. An objective
eye. A good relationship with the artist. An
instinct to make the right choices. If it is well
produced a showreel can be a really powerful
marketing tool. It should be short in length with
clean editing, dynamic choices and rendered to the
highest quality. This service offers all that along
with real value for money. |

You will either work with Ben Warren
or Misha von Bennigsen. 'We have edited hundreds of showreels
and take a totally fresh approach with each one. We
have strong relationships with agents and casting
directors, talk to them regularly and understand
what they want. We have edited for TV & film
regulars, for jobbing actors & for those just
starting out. Nothing fazes
us, whatever your requirements or worries we will
help. We edit in a relaxed environment and make
everything as easy as possible for you. The
production of your showreel will be a collaboration
at every stage, a mix of our technical know how,
objective direction and both our and your creative input.
You are totally in control and we will advise you
throughout the process'.

The most important aspect
before you arrive is that you organise your footage
as best you can. Remember Spotlight allow a maximum
of 5 mins although very often agents and casting
directors want far less than that. We would suggest
between 2 and 4 mins. Go through your footage
beforehand, note the clips you definitely want to
use (a note of time codes will save even more time)
and then see how much footage you have. You will be
surprised how quickly 2-4 mins goes. Remember to
bring music too if you want to use your own - this
often works best. Alternatively we can provide music
that has been custom written for us. For more information
see music. We ask
clients to email a high resolution version of their
photo and/or any artwork/designs that they use on other products (letterhead, business
cards, websites etc.) so that we can tie in the designs
with your showreel artwork before you arrive. Spotlight and Casting Call Pro offer
you the following advice. |
|
Apart from in exceptional
circumstances all showreels are completed on the
day. There is not a set formula to an editing
session - every client brings different footage,
different challenges - so on the day, once we have
watched your footage and together selected the parts
we want to work with, we will construct a format
that best suits you. After we have edited your reel
we will finalise the DVD artwork, decide how many
duplicates you may want and provide you with the
various options for streaming your reel to the web -
whether that be providing you with a
showreel
webpage, uploading to Spotlight, Casting Call Pro, CastNet, your personal or agents website or even if
you want it converted for your iPod - it's all
possible. At the end of the session you are welcome
to pay by cash, cheque or internet bank transfer or
by card via a PayPal invoice. You will be provided
with a receipt or invoice for tax. Various teas,
fresh coffee and water will be available on the day,
and clients should feel free to bring any food along
they may want to munch on! See
frequently asked questions for
more information. |
