GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1. This website was created and is maintained by Round Island. It is designed as an information tool concerning the company and its clients. Copyright law prevents you (among other things) from redistributing, or selling material obtained from this website. Copyright in the website, its design and content are owned by Round Island. However the website also contains some images, videos, photos and logos of third parties which have either been licensed by third parties or which we believe do not require licensing for this particular use. Where practicable third party owners are identified. If you are concerned that unlicensed material may appear on this website please let us know. The information contained on the website is regularly updated but we do not give any warranty either as to the content or the functionality of the website or that the website or the server that makes it available will at all times be error free or free from viruses. We accept no responsibility for any site which is linked to this website. In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this website. Any dispute concerning this website is subject to English Law and the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

2. All our offers and prices are correct at time of website page publication.

3. All other offers, however & wherever they were advertised, become invalid if they do not appear on this website.

4. Only one offer is redeemable per person per order.

5. The safe delivery of any material to Round Island is the sole responsibility of the client.

6. It is the responsibility of the client to request postal insurance and other special delivery services if required.

7. Round Island cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or theft of clients material whilst it is on site. We recommend you backup all data you send to us. We can not store material unless especially requested to do so. Material is destroyed safely and securely using a third party when it is deemed to be of no further use.

8. Round Island brings together a pool of creatives who are all self employed and under no contractual obligations to Round Island. Although personal from all departments operate solely for Round Island there might be times when due to personal commitments individuals are not available for periods of time.

SHOWREEL SPECIFIC

9. In the event of a client "no show" or failure of the client to give Round Island 24 hours notice of their intent to cancel or postpone, a cancellation fee of £50 is payable.

10. Round Island archive your showreel, however we cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or theft of archived work.

11. It is the sole responsibility of the client to make sure any necessary copyright clearance is obtained before the edit takes place. Copyright is a legal right which exists in literary, dramatic, artistic and musical works. It is only necessary if you lift words, music or footage directly from an existing piece of artistic work. In most cases, the producers of the work that you want to use will either have rights assigned to them or at least, a licence to the rights. Often original producers grant permission for you to use short clips free of charge. Under our terms and conditions you have full responsibility for clearing any copyright for material that you want edited or reproduced by us. Round Island will not be held responsible for any breaches in copyright.

12. Our showreel streaming package has a one off set up fee of £30 followed by an annual £6 fee that covers upkeep, maintenance and rental of web space. We currently use Google Video to upload and embed video. This results in us being able to offer the service at a reduced rate. However because videos are hosted by a third party if their site experiences technical issues a video might become temporarily unavailable. Round Island will do all it can to help resolve such issues but ultimately can not be held responsible for third party websites.

VOICEREEL SPECIFIC

13. In the event of a client "no show" or failure of the client to give Round Island 24 hours notice of their intent to cancel or postpone, a cancellation fee of £75 is payable. If a recording session is cancelled with more than 24 hours notice, a replacement session will need to be booked in order to avoid a cancellation charge of £75. N.B. We have resisted the urge to demand the entire recording fee like other voicereel production companies have had to do as we understand that the nature of the industry can sometimes mean last minute cancellations - however as the recording time, equipment and personnel are 'booked' for your recording session, we are unable to sell your slot if less than 24 hour notice is given - therefore a cancellation fee must be paid. We politely ask that in all circumstances as much time is given as possible.

14. Payment for all voicereel services must clear within 3/5 business days of your appointment to avoid a late payment fee of £25. Clients will therefore need to pay by cash or cheque after they have finished recording or after the session, but on the same day, via internet/telephone banking to avoid this charge. We can also take payment by card - please note a small additional charge will be added for this service. Please note tracks will only be released once payment has cleared.

15. All material provided by the client must be free of copyright. If we are editing existing voice tracks where material was recorded off site it is the sole responsibility of the client to make sure any necessary copyright clearance is obtained before the edit takes place. Likewise it is the sole responsibility of the client to provide themselves with scripts that are not in breach of copyright or royalty laws. Copyright is a legal right which exists in literary, dramatic, artistic and musical works. It is only necessary if you lift words, music or footage directly from an existing piece of artistic work. Round Island will not be held responsible for any breaches in copyright.

16. The standard price for a two hour session is £150. Any further recording time is charged at the half hourly rate of £25.

17. The compilation track is an additional service that we include free of charge as part of the voicereel package. If for any reason a client wants their compilation reordered or reedited after its initial creation there is a fixed fee for the service. Contact us for more information.

18. Wherever possible and specifically on the client's own website, Round Island should be credited with 'Voicereel produced by Round Island'.

WEB DESIGN SPECIFIC

20. The first website update is free of charge unless it takes longer than one hour, whereupon the standard web design hourly charge applies.

21. Web design updates are charged at an hourly rate of £20.
